In response to His Excellency’s esteemed Note of yesterday’s date, the undersigned Cardinal Secretary of State hastens to acknowledge receipt of the Letter whereby His Most Faithful Majesty recommends Mr. Bishop of Macao for the See of Angra; and assures that it has been duly submitted into the august hands of the Holy Father. The undersigned Cardinal likewise acknowledges receipt of the canonical process concerning the new Nominee; and is pleased to take this opportunity to reaffirm to His Excellency the assurance of his highest consideration.
