By royal decree, having reviewed the petition submitted to His Majesty by Captain D. Pedro Rodrigues Teixeira, resident in the city of Macau in China. The Council reports that he has served His Majesty in this capacity for many years in the territories of India, particularly in the said city of Macau, where he is one of the principal figures in its governance; and further, that he has laboured diligently in administrative duties—indeed, it is affirmed that through his efforts towards the preservation and prosperity of His Majesty’s interests, he contributed significantly to the consolidation of authority in those regions, bringing people under His Majesty’s jurisdiction and ultimately securing their allegiance to the Crown.
