des, como são, bem conhecidos nessa Cúria de Roma
da quem lhes promova os referidos Processos:
e V. S.a peça que aí se façam, e se lhe entreguem
para os apresentar ao Santo Padre, com as
Apresentações.
Pela importância, assim dos Processos, Bullas
e ciências destes dous Bispados, mandando V.S.a as
necessário, sacará Letras, e aqui farão prompto
aos seus devidos tempos, remetendo V.S.a a esses
dos Negócios do Reino, três transumptos
si com dois Duplicados da importância da
⁋S, que se fizerem nesta dependência.
⁋Escuso lembrar a V.S. a expedição das Bullas
Pontefícias a favor destes dous Bispos, por
muito bem que devem ser os mesmos, que se conco
rrem diatos antecessores.

Issuing authority: — To affirm whether the proceedings against the Bishops of Nanjing and Beijing are valid.

Copies of these documents are held in this Curia,
for transmission to the Bishopric of Peking,
successor to the Bishopric of Nanking;
and thus priests may be ordained at this Roman Curia,
by virtue of their absence from their dioceses and on account of their native status—
a matter well known to this Roman Curia,
which is therefore competent to initiate and promote the requisite canonical processes.
Your Excellency is accordingly requested to ensure that such processes are duly undertaken there and delivered to you,
so that you may present them—accompanied by the formal letters of presentation (Apresentações)—to the Holy Father.
Given the significance of these canonical processes, papal bulls (Bullas), and certificates of fitness (ciências) pertaining to both bishoprics, Your Excellency is directed to issue the necessary instructions; these will be executed promptly and within the prescribed canonical timeframes. Furthermore, Your Excellency shall transmit to the Secretariat of State (Secretaria dos Negócios do Reino) three certified copies (transumptos), each accompanied by two duplicate certified copies, of the aforementioned documents—including the letters of presentation—issued under this jurisdiction.
I need not remind Your Excellency of the urgency attaching to the issuance of the pontifical bulls in favour of these two bishops, since they ought rightly to be granted with the same expedition as those conferred upon their immediate predecessors.
