João Manuel de Carvalho para Bispo da Santa Igreja Catedral de Díli Vai junta a Cópia da mesma Carta Régia, seguido o Costume e Estilo, e o processo de habilitação devidamente autuado, o que tudo para Eza já apresentar na repartição por onde deve subir à Presença de Sua Santidade; afim de que sejam expedidas as Competentes, Letras Apostólicas, na inteligência de que toda a despesa correrá por conta do Tesouro. [Page 1] [Main Text] His Majesty the King instructs Your Excellency to forward the enclosed Royal Letter, which the Most Reverend Lord Deputy is to address to the Holy Father, commending and presenting Bishop of Macau, Dom João Manuel de Carvalho, as Bishop of the Sacred Cathedral Church of Díli. Attached is a copy of the said Royal Letter, prepared in accordance with customary form and style, together with the duly filed process of canonical suitability; all of which Your Excellency is to present forthwith to the relevant office through which it shall be submitted to the Presence of His Holiness; so that the appropriate Apostolic Letters may be issued, on the understanding that all associated expenses shall be borne by the Treasury. On this occasion, I remind Your Excellency not only to ensure that no further Apostolic Letters—specifically those requiring particular stipulations—are requested, but also to safeguard the essential terms relating to rights and preservation.
