[Title]
Imperial Mandate Issued by Yang, Magistrate of Xiangshan County, Guangzhou Prefecture, holding the rank of *Zhèng Bāpǐn* (Senior Eighth Rank), with five additional promotions and eight official commendations recorded in his service dossier, concerning the urgent collection of land rents and grain taxes from the Macau (*Háojìng Ào*) enclave.
Pursuant to precedent, annual land rents and grain-tax silver from Macau have long been remitted to the provincial treasury and formally entered into the *Dīng-Dì* (‘Population-and-Land’) tax registers for final audit and account settlement. However, such remittances for the year Qianlong 41 (1776) remain outstanding. In consequence, this mandate is hereby issued to the Western (i.e., Portuguese) Community Magistrates—*Duo Luo Gan*, et al.—to take immediate and decisive action. You are instructed to complete without delay the full collection of the land-rent silver due for Qianlong 41 from the Macau enclave, and to submit the full amount forthwith to this county office. Upon receipt, this office will appoint a clerk and scribe to receive and forward the funds to the provincial military paymaster for disbursement as soldiers’ stipends. No delay or default shall be tolerated.
